THE RESTAURANT...
The Restaurant (formertly @QH2) sits alongside the pub, in what was once the skittle alley and then the village shop. Since it’s beginning in April 2000, this ‘no frills bistro’ has become a favourite with foodies from far and wide, with a reputation now firmly established as the place to go for simply cooked delicious food.
The cook, Giacomo, is from Piemonte, a region of Northern Italy known for exquisite food and use of ingredients. Respect for, and love of, good food lies at the core of Giaco's cooking – nothing is frozen, ingredients are fresh and seasonal and food is cooked simply, so natural flavours are allowed to come out and food tastes as it's meant to. Fresh fish and game are our speciality - fish is handpicked from the Portsmouth FIsh Market, and with 25 years in the UK game trade, our venison is truly the finest you'll find.
It’s always best to book a table, and please let us know in advance of any dietary requirements or if you would like to make special arrangements for children.
We’re open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday and lunch on Sundays.
We can open for lunch during the week if you want to make a reservation, perhaps for a corporate lunch or family gathering – just give us a call.
