THE PUB...

The pubThe Queens Head has been a public house for over 300 years and the building is steeped in history. The Public Bar is the original ale house, the floor tiles of which are the same as those in the village church – village lore has it that the church craftsmen, who were lodging at the pub, were unable to pay their ale bill at the end of the job, and so repaid the Landlord by laying the floor and donating a church pew.

The Lounge Bar used to be the village butcher shop and the meathooks in the ceiling still remain. Having recently undergone a refurbishment, the Lounge Bar is now comfortable and inviting, with quiet corners to catch up with friends, ample space at the bar and a beautiful window seat that looks over the village green and Queen Victoria’s horse chestnut tree.

The pub is open every day, all day at weekends.
